Crochet Pattern Central - this is a massive collection of direct links to free crochet patterns. I believe it is the single largest and best maintained database. New patterns are being added to the list daily, while broken links are being removed. You will find links to any kind of patterns you may desire: afghans, granny squares, women clothing, men's clothing, children/babies patterns, etc.

StarGazer's Links - this website also boasts a sizable collection of direct links to free crochet patterns. This site does not seem to be updated as often as Crochet Pattern Central however. Unfortunately, a few main categories links are broken, pages for some of the direct links can no longer be found, on others - images are no longer displayed. You will find a few vintage pattern categories on this site.
